Press release - Announce of Rescheduling Go-Live Date for 15-Minute MTU in SDAC

OKTE, a.s., the Slovak Day-Ahead Market Operator and active participant in the Single Day-Ahead Coupling (SDAC) project, announces - aligned with the joint decision of project parties—the revised go-live date for the 15-Minute Market Time Unit (MTU) implementation in SDAC.

Originally planned for 11 June 2025, the go-live has been rescheduled to 30 September 2025, with the first trading date for delivery on 1 October 2025.

OKTE, a.s. had previously confirmed its technical readiness to meet the originally scheduled go-live date of 11 June 2025, based on the successful completion of both local and central system testing. This readiness was communicated via a joint statement on the OKTE’s website and further confirmed during the Market Coupling Steering Committee meeting.

We consider the transition to a 15-minute MTU as an important step toward enhancing the efficiency and flexibility of the short-term electricity market. In its effort to deliver these benefits to market participants as soon as possible, OKTE, a.s. has actively collaborated with all involved parties throughout the various phases of the project. These efforts will continue in the coming months to support a successful launch on the new date.

OKTE, a.s. remains committed to continued testing and close cooperation with project partners and market participants to ensure a smooth transition to the 15-minute MTU. Market participants are encouraged to actively engage in the testing and familiarize themselves with the new trading processes.

Further information, including the updated implementation timeline, will be presented at the upcoming Market Coupling Consultative Group (MCCG) meeting on 2 June 2025.
